About

No, I’m not Old Ben Kenobi. I’m Dave Stevenson – Writer. Reader. Professional tea drinker (I wish, what a job that would be!).

I’ve worked with scripts in various forms for over a decade now, from writing plays and performing stand up comedy with the Cambridge Footlights at university to producing short films and having feature scripts in active development here in the UK.  During that time, I studied the Applied Screenwriting Diploma at Central Film School London, worked with the National Film and Television School on their Script Development Trainee scheme, and seen my short films screened at BAFTA, the BSC, and the Borderlines Film Festival. In 2020, I worked with The Other Room Theatre and Bad Wolf as part of their Emerging Welsh Writers program, and in 2023, I was a member of the BBC Writers’ Welsh Voices Hub.

As well as writing my own stories, another big passion of mine is helping others to find their voice through the script reading services I provide here on the website. Whether you’re a complete novice needing to know your “slug-lines” from your “log-lines”, or a seasoned pro looking for a fresh pair of eyes on your latest blockbuster, I will always be happy to hear from you and do what I can to help.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to hear from you soon.
